What are the benefits of Streaming Video ???
Live Streaming Video (Webcasting)
This service enables clients to broadcast live events over the Internet. ITS can stream an audio and/or videoconference. Hundreds of users are able to simultaneously watch the live event over the web by using Real or Windows Media Players on their computer. Live web casts can also be combined with other services such as the NCIH videoconferencing service and/or an audio conference. By combining these capabilities it is possible to simulcast the session to anyone with Internet access.
Streaming Media Hosting
This service allows clients to store video and/or audio files and stream them over the Internet on an on-demand basis. The hosting service allows clients to store encoded media content on an ITS managed streaming server which provides high availability and is specifically tuned to host streaming content. Clients will be able to monitor user statistics and an FTP account will be set up for the client to manage their content. Hundreds of simultaneous users are able to view a hosted file over the Internet by using Real or Windows Media Players on their computer. On-demand content is viewable 24 hours a day and can be paused, stopped, and fast-forwarded during playback.
Encoding Service
Encoding is the process of changing video taped content from its original format to a digital file. To use this service the user provides ITS with their videotape or other media content to be encoded. ITS then converts the videotape into a digital file. The client can then host the encoded content on their server or subscribe to the ITS Streaming Media Hosting service.
