Migration Steps


1.  Contact your ITS Video Services Regional Coordinator through ITS Service Desk

2.  Evaluate bandwidth requirements for data and video on your campus

3.  Obtain quote from ITS if keeping T1 or upgrading your circuit.

4.  Review Video Over IP Guidelines document for LAN traversal and Quality of Service (QoS) recommendations

5.  Evaluate codec equipment

  • Galaxy and Appsview VTELS beyond end-of-life
  • No longer supported by VTEL
  • Not recommended for Video over IP
  • ITS maintains a list of certified Codecs
6.  Submit appropriate paperwork to ITS
  • STS-WSQ Form (To request circuit w/QoS quote)
  • STS-01 Form (To cancel your circuit/NCIH Service)
  • STS-01 Form (To upgrade your circuit w/QoS)
  • VNS-01 Form (To order your new Video over IP service)
  • IP Video Service Level Agreement Signature page
  • IP Video Service Certification Form

7.  Certify new connection (regardless of ISP provider)

8.  Allow time for NCVIP (NC Video over IP) Web Scheduler training
