| Video Bridging and Scheduling
Services ITS Video Network Services provides video bridging services to connect your site to other sites on and off the state network. ITS VNS maintains a 96 port IP video bridge and a web based scheduler that allows you, the user, to schedule your conferences well in advance. Currently ITS VNS has 8 gateways that bridge the legacy H.320 network to the H.323 IP video network. The video bridge, (a Polycom MGC-100) allows a variety of conference configurations including voice switching, transcoding to match connection speeds at different sites, and continuous presence (2 or more sites on a screen). The core ITS VNS network is enabled to provide Quality of Service to all bridged connections as long as the site is using an ITS provided data circuit for connectivity. Sites which are connecting to the VNS video bridge from a private ISP network or the Internet have no guarantee of quality and will be treated as best effort. It is important to note that although QoS is provided to ITS customers, sites not subscribing to ITS data service may experience lower quality connections that appear degraded to the QoS enabled conference participants. This does not necessarily mean that problems are occurring on the QoS enabled network. Poor quality connections from outside will be inherited into the ITS QoS network. The ITS Help Desk will be available to troubleshoot poor quality connections. |
