Subject: General Assembly Grant Information for Fiscal Year 2002-03

We are pleased to inform you that the General Assembly recognized the value of the NCIH video applications and has funded this year’s operational costs effective July 1, 2002 through June 30, 2003. These funds were allocated to the Department of Public Instruction and will be supplemented by E-rate funding. The process we are implementing is the same process used in the past with the exception that DPI is now administrating the grants.

DPI and Information Technology Services are working together to apply a monthly credit to your NCIH invoices in the amount of $1,941.38 per month. Sites will still be responsible for paying ITS any additional charges they may have incurred, such as charges for a second video channel or for data service.

ITS is now billing the DPI Grant Fund $1941.38 for each site effective with the July 2002 bill. Sites that have already paid this amount to ITS for July 2002 and any subsequent months will receive a refund payment from the DPI Grant Fund. If, however, your site has not yet paid the $1941.38 charge for July 2002 or subsequent months, please do not remit that portion of the bill to ITS. Only the charges you owe ITS over and above the basic video service rate of $1941.38 should be paid.
